My husband and I traveled to Sault Ste. Marie over the long Memorial Day weekend. Our main purpose was to see Gabriel Iglesius (aka "fluffy guy," http://fluffyguy.com). Not so fluffy these days as he has lost 105 pounds. Still, so very funny. Here's our trick. When we agree on something: we go.
We also meandered downtown to check out the locks and shorefront, taking the time to visit Sault Ste. Marie Brewery or Soo Brew, http://www.soobrew.com. I am normally not much of a beer drinker (I "taste"), but I had a pint of their Peace Sign IPA. Tasty but lethal. I learned first hand about IBU's and ABV's.
We ate at The Palace Restaurant, and I had the special Chipotle Skirt Steak. I wish I had taken a porn-food-style photo, if only to help me remember the dish so I could recreate. YUM. http://www.thepalacemexicanrestaurant.com.
We also golfed at Tanglewood Marsh, http://www.tanglewoodmarsh.com. It was good to get out -- our first outing of the year. We also managed another nine at Little River closer to home, http://www.littlerivercc.com.
Gorgeous weather... gorgeous trip. I give it all the highest rating on the "Satisfaction Index." Worth repeating!
